Summit Journeys
2019 | Wasatch Front, UT
As an Interim-Program Director, I was brought in to develop curriculum, branding systems, and business strategy for the non-profit as the founders moved from ideation to implementation. Community partnerships were developed to make weekly afternoon adventures and week-long programming possible. Within the first three months, we were able to connect with and get more than 60 local children out into the mountains and local waterways.
Program Direction + Curriculum Design
With my co-director, Eric Dooley-Feldman, we developed six weeks of curriculum for local high school students to introduce them to various activities, while developing self-efficacy, confidence and a community outdoors. These ranged from paddling local waterways, scavenger hunts in local nature preserves, hikes to city overlooks, rock climbing, and weekend backpacking trips.

Initial Branding

Logo process – mountain outlines feature the favorite backdrop of Mount Olympus in Holladay, UT
Final ‘Working’ Logo
Under the umbrella of 7 Summits 7 Seas, Summit Journeys was an entirely new operation. We brainstormed and built a brand guide within 3 weeks of launch with the goal of having a consistent visual brand to allow us to build recognition in the community as we grew, knowing that the logo and style guide would be updated within a few years.
Collateral

Leadership Retreat
A week-long R&D retreat to Costa Rica to bring the leadership team together as we defined who we wanted to work with, how we could make the biggest impact for those looking to get outdoors, and how we were going to get there.
Prior to the trip, my partner and I developed and designed a workbook to guide the five-days of conversation and introspection.

Web Design
Hosted on Squarespace, we built the website with a focus on easy access to information about resources and events for parents and community partners.
